POLSON – Wal-Mart is re-evaluating its plans to build a supercenter store in Polson even though it recently won a protracted court battle over the proposed store.
Much has changed since the corporation bought 28 acres on U.S. 93 in 2005 and announced it wanted to build a supercenter to replace its smaller discount store located nearby.
A court challenge from people opposed to the new store was decided last week with an unanimous Montana Supreme Court decision that paved the way for the project to go forward.
But Wal-Mart spokesman Josh Phair says that the world’s largest retailer would restart the assessment process on the Polson store.
Phair said Wal-Mart had no timeline for any decisions about a new Polson store.
