HELENA – University of Montana wide receiver Marc Mariani and Northern Arizona quarterback Michael Herrick were named the Big Sky Conference co-offensive players of the week.
Weber State defensive tackle Ryan Eastman and Portland State kicker Zach Brown were also honored by the league.
Mariani, a senior from Havre, caught six passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns as No. 4 Montana rallied for a 35-23 home win over No. 15 Cal Poly. Mariani scored on an 84-yard pass play from Justin Roper and a 68-yard pass play from Andrew Selle.
Herrick, a junior from Valencia, Calif., passed for 388 yards and a touchdown in Northern Arizona’s 23-10 win over Montana State in Bozeman.
Eastman, a sophomore from Honolulu, had three sacks that helped stop Eastern Washington drives in Weber State’s 31-13 upset of the No. 14 Eagles in Cheney, Wash.
Brown, a freshman from Keizer, Ore., kicked field goals of 50, 40 and 33 yards and two extra points in Portland State’s 23-18 win at Northern Colorado.
