For the second straight year, Glacier’s boys golf team came in second to Billings West at the Class AA state golf tournament. But this time, West won in convincing fashion. A year after narrowly defeating Glacier by three strokes, the Bears cruised to a 45-stroke victory. The top four golfers at the tournament were all from West. Glacier’s Justin Newton finished fifth. Flathead came in 12th.
It was Billings West’s fourth straight state championship – in 2007 the Bears tied for first with Glacier. And it was one of the more dominating performances we’re likely to see for a long time in Montana high school golf. On the girls side, Bozeman took the title. Glacier came in fourth, the best finish in school history. Flathead came in 12th.
