Hazardous String and a Great Escape

6:59 a.m. A home on Ponderosa Lane filled with smoke, much to the alarm of the homeowners. Authorities arrived to find that the occupants had merely forgotten to open the fireplace chimney.

8:00 a.m. Someone tripped over a string that was holding up a tree in the Flathead County Justice Center parking lot.

12:08 p.m. A parked car on East Idaho Street caught on fire and was soon engulfed in flames. No individuals were harmed in the blaze.

12:16 p.m. An elderly female was reported as missing in Columbia Falls. Fortunately, the subject was located within 40 minutes.

1:40 p.m. An iPod, sunglasses and a small amount of cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in Lakeside.

1:44 p.m. A man from Bigfork called to report that his ex-girlfriend was harassing him and demanding that he return a gift she had given him. He claims that he no longer has the item in question. The situation was resolved when the man decided to go to Minnesota to get away.

2:12 p.m. Someone driving on Highway 206 was alarmed to see that a log was hanging precariously off of a logging truck. The hazardous truck could not be located.

2:49 p.m. A woman reports that her boyfriend verbally threatened to hit her.

3:25 p.m. Someone left their truck and boat unattended on the side of the road near McGregor Lake. The owner was contacted and will be retrieving his things.

4:38 p.m. A 63-year-old woman with flu symptoms was transported to North Valley Hospital.

5:39 p.m. Someone on Gordon Avenue in Columbia Falls claims that a process server threatened them.

5:53 p.m. A man stumbled around in the middle of Highway 35, occasionally pausing to flash a passing motorist. The flasher was gone when authorities arrived.

6:13 p.m. A transient individual was harassing customers at an Evergreen box store. The responding officer invited him to move along.

6:27 p.m. Two men crashed their car into a retaining wall on Willow Glen Drive. The two were unharmed in the crash.

6:34 p.m. Two men with guns, apparently hunters, went behind a gate on Abbey Road. The supposed trespassers were gone when authorities arrived.

7:05 p.m. An unknown amount of morphine was stolen from a Bigfork home.

7:39 p.m. A young boy riding his bike on Harmony Court almost wrecked when he was chased by two dogs. The animal warden found the dogs and returned them to their home.

7:48 p.m. A male transient was harassing customers at an Evergreen fast food restaurant. The man was escorted to jail, as this was a repeat offense.

9:02 p.m. A 4×4 vehicle was reportedly spotlighting deer in a Badrock Drive field. Authorities could not locate the culprit.
