Public Urination and a Kid with a Gun

10:27 a.m. A man was arrested after repeatedly trespassing on a Somers property and assaulting another individual.

11:32 a.m. A Whitefish resident was shocked to look out and see a man relieving himself in the ditch across from her home. The man has evidently been camping in the area.

12:58 p.m. Someone called to report a large amount of smoke at a local public park, possibly from a transient camp. The alleged smoke turned out to be steam from an evaporator.

1:54 p.m. A man and woman yelled at one another on Klondyke Loop. The male party wanted to move back into the home, and the woman disagreed.

2:10 p.m. Someone has been calling and leaving harassing phone messages at a KM Ranch Road home.

2:43 p.m. A transient individual was not wanted at a local casino.

2:48 p.m. On Mountain Ash Lane, a process server reportedly crossed a locked and gated property line and argued with the homeowner. Authorities will be following up on the report.

3:15 p.m. A transient male was arrested at an Evergreen box store for disorderly conduct.

3:23 p.m. A local woman claims that her husband just married another woman in Florida. Upon further investigation, it was found that the man in fact had only one wife.

3:41 p.m. Someone spotted a vehicle moving westbound down Highway 2 with a child standing up in the front seat. The vehicle could not be located.

3:42 p.m. Last Friday night, a dog bit a person in Columbia Falls.

3:44 p.m. Someone on Lost Creek Drive reports that a neighbor’s horses have not access to food and that their water source is constantly tipped over. The reporting party also speculated that the horses may have been eating their own droppings, based on the small amount of scat in the pasture. Authorities found the horses to be healthy and well-fed.

3:56 p.m. A resident of Old Creek Road in Marion noticed that someone had broken into their storage shed.

4:12 p.m. A house was paint-balled in Columbia Falls.

4:23 p.m. Someone on South Cedar Drive called to report that a 10-year-old boy was shooting the reporting party’s dog with a BB gun. The claim turned out to be unfounded, as the weapon was actually a toy gun.

5:22 p.m. Authorities assisted in removing a squatter in a homemade utility trailer on Spring Prairie Road.

5:57 p.m. A woman was sleeping suspiciously in her car at an Evergreen park but left before authorities arrived.

7:08 p.m. A mother kicked her 16-year-old daughter out of the car near Whitefish, apparently because she made a rude comment.

7:43 p.m. A music player and a cell phone were stolen in Lakeside.

9:35 p.m. Someone spotted several kids smoking marijuana in the parking lot of a local burger joint. The youths were gone when authorities arrived.

11:12 p.m. A black bear cub managed to get stuck in a tree at a Columbia Falls trailer court. Fish and Game helped the bear get safely down.

12:50 a.m. A vaporizer caught fire at a Bigfork residence, injuring one individual. The victim was treated on the scene for blisters.
