Have you taken a walk outside lately? I have. It’s hands-in-pockets-why-did-I-forget-my-gloves cold.
And it should be, because it’s almost November in Montana. However, there are some folks in our community who may not have access to adequate warmth this winter, specifically when it comes to winter coats.
In that spirit, Flathead Valley Community College will be holding a winter coat collecting drive from Nov. 1 to Nov. 20, sponsored by the college’s recycling club. This is the kind of recycling that anyone can get down with, regardless of their point of view on natural resources and other environmental issues. Plus, it’s been a trying year for a lot of Flathead families, and this could be a cool way to help some neighbors out. Used adult and children coats can be donated at the collection bins inside Blake Hall and the Early Childhood Center on the FVCC campus as well as Bigfork Station Foyer on Electric Avenue.
No one, especially kids, should have to endure a Montana winter without a proper coat. If you’ve got any questions, give the recycling coordinator a call at 212-6943.
Stay warm for Halloween and have a lovely weekend!
