Killing Time and a Missing Person

3:09 a.m. Someone in Columbia Falls could hear voices outside but couldn’t see anyone in the area.

5:46 a.m. Two men engaged in a drunken brawl in Lakeside. Although one claims the other hit him with a bat, this claim hasn’t been substantiated.

6:19 a.m. A wrecking truck parked in a Marion driveway caused problems for the homeowner when they tried to leave.

8:17 a.m. Skinny, sickly dogs wandered around on McMannamy Draw.

9:35 a.m. A driver in Whitefish was alarmed to find a trash bag full of bones on the side of Karrow Avenue. The bones turned out to be from a dead deer.

10:01 a.m. Three goats are in the habit of wandering onto a neighbor’s property on Helena Flats Road.

10:48 a.m. Apparently, a man’s estranged wife has “half of the Valley” out looking for him with the intention to end his life.

11:33 a.m. A resident of Gunsite Loop was chased into their home by a neighbor’s vicious dog.

2:37 p.m. Two 12-year-old male subjects were skateboarding in the parking lot of a business on Jewel Basin Court. The young boys fled when approached.

2:46 p.m. Someone called to report that a visitor from Georgia was a convicted felon and might be violating their parole.

3:43 p.m. After striking a mountain lion with their vehicle, a motorist requested information for an insurance claim.

3:49 p.m. Someone saw a man kick a dog in Somers.

4:06 p.m. A man was seen sitting in his vehicle near a local convenience store with a hatchet on his lap. When asked what he was doing, he claimed he was just “killing time.”

4:12 p.m. Someone set up a tent near a local church. It was later discovered that he had permission to be on the site.

4:56 p.m. A bale of hay obstructed Highway 35.

5:08 p.m. A resident of Castle View Road claims that a mentally unstable neighbor spit at their car as they drove by.

5:15 p.m. Someone lost their wallet and then later found it.

5:57 p.m. A resident of Danielson Road went to a neighbor’s house and accused them of shooting unsafely. The two argued and then separated.

6:04 p.m. A cat was found in a pet carrier behind a dumpster at a local convenience store.

8:04 p.m. A person reported as missing from a Bigfork gym was later found inside the building, cleaning the carpets.

10:29 p.m. Authorities chased a man dressed in camouflage and carrying a rifle in Columbia Falls. The subject evidently fled when they tried to make contact.
