Old-Fashioned Christmas Bazaar at the Hockaday

By Beacon Staff

This year’s annual art walk and holiday stroll in Kalispell promises plenty of cheer for its participants, as well as opportunities for finding some pretty unique gifts.

As a prime example, the Hockaday Museum of Art will host an old-fashioned Christmas gift bazaar, which means 17 or 18 artists will have tables full of their hand-made crafts. According to members of the Hockaday Guild, the tables will include typically holiday crafts as well as other classic art forms, such as glass blowing, oil painting and wood working. One of the highlights will be a collection of jumping jacks, created by Jennifer Li and individually decorated by local artists.

Volunteers and artists all across the valley are working on this bazaar, so if you’re going strolling on Friday, be sure to check out what the Hockaday has to offer. The gift fair begins at noon on Friday and runs until 9 p.m. It will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Also, come on by the Beacon office and say hello – doors will be open and food will be served (along with fresh holiday cheer!) from 5 p.m to 9 p.m.
