Angry Motorists and a Mysterious Prowler

5:02 a.m. Authorities checked on the occupants of a vehicle that had broken down on Highway 2.

8:49 .am. A chimney fire in Bigfork was extinguished within 14 minutes.

10:46 a.m. Two horses in a small pen in Martin City appeared to be neglected. Authorities arrived to find that they did have food and water.

10:55 a.m. A black lab continually escapes its enclosure on Trails End Drive.

12:07 p.m. A woman on McMannamy Draw fired a construction worker, after which he threatened to sue her.

12:43 p.m. A large amount of garbage clogged Highway 93 in Whitefish.

12:51 p.m. A broken pipe led to a flooded basement on Fox Hill Drive. The local fire department helped shut off the water and contend with a carbon monoxide alarm that had gone off in the chaos.

1:34 p.m. Someone on Rabe Road called to report that her daughter’s ex-husband was beating on the door and causing problems. Authorities located the man and are helping to resolve the situation.

1:39 p.m. Windows were broken out of an old school bus on Mountain View Drive.

2:46 p.m. Reports of a large herd of hungry horses on Highway 2 West proved unfounded.

4:03 p.m. Someone at a Bigfork grocery store overheard two drivers yelling at one another from their vehicles. Each subject felt that the other was a bad driver.

4:04 p.m. A woman in Columbia Falls called to report a dog running at large in the neighborhood. She will call back if she manages to capture the pooch.

5:44 p.m. Someone called from Mountain Meadow Road to report that their daughter’s ex-boyfriend wouldn’t leave the family home. Deputies counseled the unwanted party and he promptly left.

5:50 p.m. An 11-year-old who had been dropped off at the library was late in returning to his Evergreen home. The boy arrived within one minute of the report.

5:58 p.m. A 21-year-old female attempted to steal a ring valued at $50 from an Evergreen box store.

7:52 p.m. Someone on Hodgson Road suspects a guest of stealing $800 from the home.

9:18 p.m. A Columbia Falls woman was alarmed to see a male subject standing outside her trailer home. The man ran off when she tried to approach him. Authorities found no footprints or other signs of trespassing.

10:17 p.m. A yellow golden retriever looked cold on Haven Drive. The dog did in fact have a shelter but had chosen not to use it.

10:34 p.m. A doghouse caught fire on Kings Loop but was put out within ten minutes.

11:54 p.m. Someone called from a Columbia Falls bar indicating that four men were fighting over a girl. Authorities found no one on the scene and believe that it was a false report.
