PLACES: Angel Trees at Kalispell Center Mall

By Beacon Staff

As the holidays approach, it is a good time to look beyond gifts for friends and family alone and reach out to someone who might have a little less.

The “Angel Trees” at the Kalispell Center Mall provide an ideal opportunity to help people in the community who could use a boost this season. The process is simple: Choose from a number of paper ornaments, each labeled with a different gift request from an assortment of organizations. After choosing an ornament, you then purchase the gift and place it in a box under the organization’s tree.

Groups hosting a tree include Kids Konnected, Humane Society, Salvation Army, AWARE, Head Start, Hope Pregnancy Resource Center, Flathead Youth Home, A Ray of Hope, Flathead Shelter Friends and Montana Veterans Home.

Gift requests range from music CDs and toys like Hannah Montana dolls to video games, clothing, shoes and gift cards. Gifts for the younger kids are usually filled first so those who are interested in purchasing items for teens and young adults are urged to participate.

By choosing a gift within your budget you can make a difference this holiday season in another person’s life.

How to get there: The Kalispell Center Mall is located on West Center Street in downtown Kalispell.
