BILLINGS – Doctors for former Sen. Conrad Burns have upgraded his condition from critical to serious as the three-term Montana Republican recovers from a stroke he suffered last week.
A spokeswoman for Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. says Burns’ condition was upgraded Monday morning.
He was hospitalized last Wednesday after the former senator’s wife found him disoriented at their home in Arlington, Va.
Since losing a bid for a fourth term in the senate three years ago, Burns has worked for the lobbying firm Gage Business Consulting. Friends say he had recently bought a house in Billings and was in the process of moving back to Montana.
