The Flathead County sheriff’s department is investigating the death of a 44-year-old Whitefish woman whose body was found outside her house.
Sheriff Mike Meehan says the woman’s husband reported her missing at about 8 a.m. Monday and a few minutes later called back to say he’d found her body about 75 yards from their home.
Meehan says the woman’s body was taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for an autopsy.
Temperatures were in the single digits when the woman’s body was found.
The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
