THE WINE SPY: Maryhill Winemakers White

By Beacon Staff

This white wine is a great pair with a chicken recipe. We enjoyed Maryhill Winemakers White with our gourmet cheese and cracker tray prior to and throughout dinner.

Layman’s Review: For the price, this white wine was on the money. The fruity blend was a great compliment to our chicken dish at dinner. Although I typically prefer a dryer wine, this would be a great wine to keep on hand that will appeal to many taste buds.

Experts Review: This luscious blend of four white varietals, 49 percent Chardonnay, 36 percent Sauvignon Blanc, 11 percent Semillon and 4 percent Viognier will remind you of rich summer fruits: ripe juicy melons, peaches and succulent apricots. The palate is full and creamy yet fresh with crunchy pear, green apple, lemon peel and honeydew nuances leading into a long finish tinged with honeysuckle and tropical kiwis.
