BILLINGS – Former U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns has returned to Montana as he continues to recover from a Dec. 9 stroke.

Burns flew back to Billings Tuesday after his release from the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Burns said in a statement issued through Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg that he would continue his rehabilitation at the Billings Clinic. The statement said a full recovery was expected.

The 74-year-old Republican, who served three terms, recently sold his house in Arlington, Va., to move back to Billings.
