GLASGOW – Five out-of-state men have been convicted on multiple wildlife charges stemming from an illegal outfitting operation in northeast Montana.
The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks says 60-year-old Robert Nelsen, of Bowling Green, Ky., has pleaded guilty to a felony count of outfitting without a license and was convicted of various misdemeanor charges.
The agency says Nelsen was subsequently fined $5,555 and was ordered to pay $1,050 in restitution. He also had his hunting, fishing and trapping privileges revoked for eight years.
The agency says Nelsen mainly conducted hunts on private land enrolled in a state hunting access program from 2005 to 2007.
Four other associates and clients were also charged as a result of the investigation.
