Convenient Crime and Some Odd Advice

6:34 a.m. A dead deer briefly obstructed Grand Drive in Bigfork.

8:24 a.m. An out-of-control teen girl was escorted to juvenile detention from her Whitefish home.

9:00 a.m. Someone broke into a vehicle on East Idaho Street.

9:16 a.m. A resident of Newsom Lane called to report that a door was open to a vacant home next door. Police arrived on scene and shut the door.

10:14 a.m. Someone stumbled across an open well on a property on Columbia Falls Stage Road. The property owner has been notified that this is highly unsafe and will be fixing the problem.

10:20 a.m. A local man went to jail for partner/family member assault after hitting a woman.

10:59 a.m. Three hundred gallons of diesel fuel were stolen from a local equipment company.

11:11 a.m. A resident of Angel Point Road was alarmed to notice that drivers have been using a pull-off near their home to stop and make phone calls.

12:13 p.m. Someone evidently stole a ladder from a construction truck parked at a convenience store and then walked across the street to pawn it. His blunder was caught on the store’s surveillance tape.

12:32 p.m. A huge black dog in was allegedly displaying very aggressive behavior in Hungry Horse. The pup was gone by the time authorities arrived.

2:24 p.m. Evergreen Fire Department responded to a report that a dog had fallen through the ice in the area of the new Steel Bridge. They succeeded in rescuing the pooch.

9:07 p.m. A resident of Hungry Horse called to report that a neighbor, with whom they were engaged in a feud, was walking down the road. They were evidently advised by a lawyer to call every time this occurred.

9:58 p.m. A man and a woman were arrested following a domestic disturbance. Alcohol was involved in the incident.

11:47 p.m. Someone in Columbia Falls stole a motor scooter from someone else.

12:20 a.m. A disturbance ensued when one intoxicated male refused to leave the presence of another intoxicated male. The parties were separated and counseled.
