Darby Looks to Toughen Breath Test Ordinance

By Beacon Staff

DARBY – Town leaders in Darby are looking to toughen penalties for suspected drunken drivers who refuse to submit to blood or breath tests.

The Ravalli Republic says that a proposed ordinance would impose a $1,000 fine on those who refuse a test and are subsequently convicted of DUI.

Currently, such cases result in having their licenses revoked.

Other communities in Montana, including Missoula, are considering similar fines.
