Victims of Libby Crash Identified

By Beacon Staff

LIBBY – Identities were released Monday for four people killed in a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 2 near Libby.

The Montana Highway Patrol said 17-year-old Jacob Colclough of Libby apparently fell asleep at the wheel and drifted off the road at about 6 p.m. Saturday. His vehicle rolled into a van being driven by 59-year-old Ramona Bauer of Columbia Falls.

Trooper Bryce Ford said Colclough, Bauer and her two passengers were killed. Family members identified Bauer’s passengers as her grandchildren – 12-year-old Jade Ulrich and 13-year-old Jeremy Dodge-Sanders.

The family was headed home after a wrestling match in Libby.

Ford said neither alcohol nor speed was a factor in the crash, and the highway was dry.
