Empty Safe and a Nature Shock

8:40 a.m. No one was harmed when the front wheels of a vehicle broke through the ice at the south end of Bitterroot Lake. Marion Fire Department responded.

9:57 a.m. Three shady characters in the parking lot of a local bank were gone when authorities arrived.

11:39 a.m. Sibling rivalry erupted into a verbal disturbance between two teens on Blanchard Lake Road.

1:20 p.m. A yellow four-wheeler that had been parked in the same spot for two days was gone when authorities arrived.

1:30 p.m. Someone neglected to place their fast-food wrappers in an appropriate waste receptacle but instead scattered them about Conrad Drive.

2:48 p.m. A grass fire on Helena Flats Road started with one acre and spread to ten before it was extinguished.

4:08 p.m. A dog caught in a live trap on Ardell Drive was taken to the shelter.

4:25 p.m. On Reserve Drive, the driver of a black truck chased and pelted items at another driver.

4:33 p.m. Items were stolen from a storage room on West Valley Drive.

4:34 p.m. Someone found an empty safe on Steel Bridge Road. The contents are believed to have been removed through a hole cut through the side.

4:54 p.m. The owner of a dead dog on Cedar Flats Road will be taking care of the body.

5:03 p.m. Several “good-sized” rocks temporarily blocked Highway 2.

6:30 p.m. A woman was enjoying a walk along a Bigfork nature trail when a man called to her and, sprawled across a rock, exposed his person to her. Authorities will be keeping close tabs on the area.

8:41 p.m. A dog that was reportedly tied to a pole at a Somers bar for half an hour was gone when deputies arrived.

12:08 a.m. A shop window in Hungry Horse was busted out with what appears to be a large rock.
