Critter Confusion and Dairy Thieves

8:34 a.m. A reportedly suspicious blue and white van on Whitefish Stage Road had not been moved for several days. Authorities investigated and found that nothing was amiss.

9:13 a.m. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Glacier Stage Lane.

9:23 a.m. Someone on Highway 206 called to report that their brother-in-law was tearing up their driveway with his vehicle. The subject left and complaint was canceled.

9:28 a.m. A nail gun was stolen from a location in Whitefish.

10:42 a.m. Reports of illegal dumping in Coram led authorities to discover that the entire dump site was a mess. The illegal dumper was gone upon arrival.

10:59 a.m. Although seemingly suspicious, an individual removing railroad ties near Highway 2 East was in fact a railroad employee.

11:16 a.m. Officers counseled the owner of a noisy dog on Gunsite Loop.

12:28 p.m. Someone in the Whitefish area called to report that a horse or mule was not being fed. The animal, which was actually a donkey, was completely fine.

12:44 p.m. An 8-year-old in at Meadow Manor was almost bitten by a neighbor’s pit bull.

1:01 p.m. A propane tank was stolen from a residence on East Evergreen Drive.

2:18 p.m. Glass and debris were seen on Highway 93, just north of KM Ranch Road.

3:25 p.m. It is suspected that an individual climbed into a Whitefish motel and possibly slept in one of the beds.

3:50 p.m. Someone on West Reserve Drive reports that their sister stole something from them, though it is unknown exactly what.

4:12 p.m. Blasting caps were found in a storage unit on Sirucek Lane. The items were disposed of appropriately.

5:04 p.m. A group of people carrying guns in the driveway of a Whitefish church aroused the suspicions of an observant citizen. Come to find out, the weapons were merely paintball guns.

6:08 p.m. A female subject with missing teeth evidently tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill at an Evergreen fast food establishment. The clerk returned the bill to the customer, who was gone when officers arrived.

6:57 p.m. Two men, the husband and son of the reporting party, yelled at one another in Bigfork. The younger of the two was given a ride elsewhere.

8:53 p.m. A Bigfork resident claims that they received death threats from an individual against whom the reporting party testified in court.

10:10 p.m. A woman who was late coming home from a friend’s house arrived while her husband was on the phone with authorities.

12:07 a.m. An unconscious man on the sidewalk near a Columbia Falls restaurant was transported to the hospital.

1:14 a.m. After dialing 9-1-1, hanging up, and calling back, a West Valley Acres man indicated that his wife was “ragging” on him. Authorities escorted the intoxicated fellow to jail for disorderly conduct.

2:25 a.m. Two heavy-set men in overalls were seen trying to get into the back of a dairy truck on Trumbull Creek Road. Both were gone when deputies arrived.
