Kids Pester Dog and a Pavement Snooze

1:05 a.m. Someone was reportedly riding a bike with a milk crate on the back in Columbia Falls. The reporting party somehow found this suspicious.

1:07 a.m. Deputies could not locate the source of what sounded like a woman’s scream in Hungry Horse.

1:10 a.m. One man assaulted another in the parking lot of a local bar. No weapons were involved.

4:08 a.m. Although they could not see the vehicle, someone Bigfork heard a car racing up and down the road.

6:57 a.m. An individual at a Bigfork casino reports that the horn of a truck parked outside was honking every two minutes. Authorities found someone sleeping in the vehicle.

7:28 a.m. Someone in Whitefish saw a mountain lion.

11:03 a.m. Fully aware of the shock collar it wore, kids on Anderson Lane tried to entice a neighbor dog to cross the fence.

12:44 p.m. A 50-year-old woman was taken to jail after firing a gun during a disturbance on Kila Road.

2:21 p.m. A Columbia Falls woman apparently punched herself in the face and tried to pass it off as inflicted by someone else. Authorities performed a welfare check.

3:37 p.m. The man found dead in a room at a local motel apparently died of natural causes.

5:35 p.m. Someone reportedly saw another individual shooting a dog on Rocky Cliff Drive.

10:16 p.m. An intoxicated transient lying beneath a streetlight near an Evergreen box store was advised as to the dangers of sleeping in parking lots.

10:53 p.m. After finding a dead rabbit in a pen with their miniature horses, a Many Lakes Drive resident deduced that someone has been coming into the enclosure at night. Deputies are investigating.

12:05 a.m. A Somers man broke his leg after falling over a stack of firewood. The man was transported to the hospital.
