One-Sided Chat and a Neighbor Dispute

6:24 a.m. An employee of a local contracting business reportedly kicked in a window to retrieve some personal belongings. The business owner did not wish to pursue charges.

7:14 a.m. Someone noticed an abandoned bike lying in front of a rental home in Columbia Falls.

7:45 a.m. A child reported as missing in Bigfork turned up safe and sound with his grandfather. The issue turned out to be a misunderstanding.

8:34 a.m. The man who jumped out of a brown pickup and started running in Somers was not in fact suspicious, despite a caller’s concerns. Deputies found that he belonged in the area.

9:27 a.m. Someone on Highway 93 South could not catch a litter of stray kittens near their home and requested help from authorities.

9:35 a.m. A concerned caller felt that the driver of a vehicle in an Evergreen parking lot may have been trying to sell drugs. The vehicle was gone when deputies arrived.

9:50 a.m. A dog in a kennel on Mountain Meadow Road is reportedly so small that it cannot turn around. Authorities left a notice at the home.

11:32 a.m. Several loose mules in Columbia Falls were eventually contained.

11:51 a.m. A red sports car reportedly “spun out” and lost control on Middle Road. Deputies will be providing extra patrol in the area.

2:03 p.m. Someone called to report that a man was walking down Blankenship Road and having a loud conversation with himself. Authorities checked on the man and found that he was fine.

2:53 p.m. A rock was thrown through a window at a school in Evergreen.

5:08 p.m. Two very drunk men in shorts were seen yelling at one another while walking in Evergreen.

5:12 p.m. An Olney resident called to complain that a neighbor sprayed her with a garden hose and used profanities against her. Authorities helped them work it out.

5:23 p.m. Individuals on Spotted Bear Road were counseled after shooting arrows and guns in the direction of a nearby home.

7:26 p.m. A resident of Clark Drive reports that a man in a white truck was shooting gophers in her field.

8:38 p.m. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding an abandoned bike and other personal belongings on Jewel Basin Road.

10:01 p.m. A resident of Coyote Meadow Trail arrived home after being out of town to find that the house had been ransacked. Items stolen include electronics and a boat.

10:36 p.m. Deputies could not locate the source of ten shotgun blasts heard on Janens Way in Columbia Falls.

12:31 a.m. Three juvenile males in black sweaters were seen grabbing car handles in Whitefish.
