PLACES: Kalispell Farmers’ Market

By Beacon Staff

The harvest season has yet to kick into full gear but there are still plenty of opportunities to browse some fantastic treats at the Kalispell Farmers’ Market.

Kicking off its 36th season last weekend, the open-air market is located in the parking lot of the Kalispell Center Mall.

One of the oldest in the state, the market includes everything from arts and crafts, baked goods, jams and jellies, meat and eggs, bedding plants, annual flowers and perennial flowers and native plants and trees to handmade jewelry, pottery, iron and wood works, woven rugs, soaps, lotions, knitted and crocheted accessories, photographs and cards.

As the season heats up, it’s a perfect place grab a cup of coffee and wander in the morning sun while picking through locally grown fruits and vegetables of all varieties, as well as fresh baked goods. It’s a great way to support local artisans, businesses and growers.

The market is open each Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. now through October 16.

How to get there: The Kalispell Farmers’ Market is located at the corner of Center Street and Fifth Avenue West. From downtown Kalispell, turn west on Center and keep an eye out for the white tents in the mall parking lot.
