Stolen Princess and a Pair of Bears

6:29 a.m. A transient was seen sleeping in a car near Bowdish Road. This is evidently an ongoing problem.

7:59 a.m. Someone in Essex called to report that their yard art had been stolen. The item in question was a four-foot-tall stone statue of a Thai Buddha princess.

8:17 a.m. Two grizzlies walked toward a deck on Wolf Creek Drive in Bigfork. The reporting party fired a gun in their general direction in an attempt to frighten them.

10:03 a.m. Five gallons of gas were stolen from a garage on Yodelin Ridge Road.

10:22 a.m. Someone on Caroline Point Road received a call from an unknown subject claiming that the reporting party had won $650 million and a car, and only needed to send $350 to claim their prize.

10:43 a.m. According to reports, dogs frequently chase deer on Wishart Road.

1:04 p.m. Three supposedly neglected horses on Columbia Falls Stage Road actually had food and water available to them.

1:25 p.m. An older, intoxicated male was seen tottering about Whitefish in the area of Baker Avenue.

1:25 p.m. Someone drove through a yard on Magstadt Lane.

1:43 p.m. A dog that barked all day at a local motel was irritating but not neglected.

1:56 p.m. A resident of Kings Loop called to report that an unknown individual was at a neighbor’s house in the owner’s absence. The homeowner did in fact know the subject, who was advised of several misdemeanor warrants.

4:35 p.m. Three suspicious men were seen walking around in Whitefish. Although it appeared to the caller that one was carrying an assault rifle, the weapon was in fact an airsoft gun.

4:53 p.m. A traveling salesman was apparently not wanted on Woodland Drive, as he was assaulted by a local landlord.

8:20 p.m. A 16-year-old male subject on Stonecrest Drive pushed his mom and then ran away.

8:25 p.m. A boat and trailer were stolen from a residence on Spencer Trail in Whitefish.

8:33 p.m. Authorities picked up a cat that was caught in a cage on Shadow Lane.

8:45 p.m. Someone called to report that they witnessed the exchange of drugs and money in the parking lot of an Evergreen box store.

10:00 p.m. A possible prowler on Danielson Road turned out to be an innocuous neighbor.

10:56 p.m. Seven or eight shots heard near Highway 35 turned out to be fireworks.
