Kearny Rapids boat launch offers water access to the Swan River upstream from the Wild Mile section. This mellow flat water area of the Swan River offers a great spot for small boats, canoes and touring kayaks.
The Swan Nature Trail hugs the north side of this area with access to the trailhead across from the Kearny Rapids launch.
Downstream from the dam, over Memorial Day weekend, is the 34th Annual Bigfork Whitewater Festival. For more information on the kayaking races contact Mike at 892-2256.
Also that Sunday, May 30, is a triathlon with a 4-mile flat water float, 14-mile road bike race and a 4-mile run along the river finishing in downtown Bigfork. For information on the triathlon, contact Stan at 752-2880.
How to Get There: Take Highway 35 through Bigfork and turn east on Highway 209 and go for approximately 2.3 miles to Swan River Road. The launch is at this bridge.
