Rand Paul on the Montana Campaign Trail in 2008

Rand Paul, the Kentucky Senate candidate who trounced his Republican opponent, Trey Grayson, in that state’s recent primary, has been in the news a lot lately for his criticism of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Meanwhile, many of his supporters have criticized the media’s coverage of Paul’s statements.

Paul actually visited Montana while on the campaign trail for his father and former presidential candidate, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, in 2008. The elder Paul enjoyed wide support in Montana and placed second in the Republican caucus here.
