Trial Delayed for Flathead Valley Man Accused of Killing Relatives

By Beacon Staff

The trial of a Flathead Valley man accused of killing his father and brother has been delayed until fall.

Attorney Vicki Frazier, who represents Justin Ray Calbick of Creston, says the defense is still waiting for crime lab results and other evidence.

Calbick’s next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 18, with trial set for Sept. 27. The trial had originally been set for June 7.

Calbick is charged with two counts of deliberate homicide in the Jan. 27 shooting deaths of 60-year-old Donald Calbick, and 38-year-old Stacey Calbick. Prosecutors say he later held six people hostage at gunpoint, including his wife and children.

Calbick has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
