Flathead County Sheriff’s and Kalispell Police Reports

Road Rage and a Suspicious Mattress Salesman

By Erin Cole

Monday 6/8

9:32 a.m. At a Kalispell trailer park, a woman refused to let her former boyfriend remove his belongings from her car until deputies arrived.

12:09 p.m. A Kalispell citizen reported that his wood stove had been stolen six months earlier.

2:43 p.m. Three motorcyclists claimed that a truck driver pointed a gun at them as they passed him on Highway 2. After investigating, deputies determined that the driver was delivering pharmaceutical narcotics and after having been robbed in the past, he became alarmed when the cyclists passed him at a very low rate of speed. He also said he merely brandished his weapon and didn’t aim it directly at anyone.

3:58 p.m. A Kalispell woman reported that every glass pane in her French door had been busted. When authorities arrived, they found the French door in perfect condition.

5:53 p.m. A Whitefish resident arrived home to find a dead raccoon and fox on his doorstep. Deputies believe the chances of the two animals engaging in a life-ending struggle on a porch are minimal.

6:41 p.m. After hearing a loud bang, a Kalispell resident discovered a tin-foiled pop bottle on his deck.

7:01 p.m. An elderly Whitefish resident became suspicious that a door-to-door mattress salesman was running a scam. Deputies determined the business was legitimate.

7:48 p.m. Fire and smoke erupted from a Ford vehicle parked in the Super One Foods in Evergreen.

8:38 p.m. Deputies responding to a traffic hazard on Shadow Lane in Kalispell discovered a group of kids riding 4-wheelers in circles.

9:36 p.m. An intoxicated man was escorted home after he began disrobing poolside at a Columbia Falls resort.

12:13 a.m. Twenty-one minutes after an intoxicated woman pulled into the wrong driveway in Columbia Falls, she was arrested and awarded a DUI.

12:58 a.m. After her nephew threatened to “kick her butt,” a Hungry Horse woman hid inside her home after hearing a strange noise outside. Authorities failed to find anyone near the residence.
