Printing Mistake in Today’s Beacon

By Beacon Staff

If you picked up the Flathead Beacon’s print edition Wednesday, and began reading the front page story on Chuck Curry’s win in the race for Flathead County sheriff, you will notice that it jumps to page 14, which is a page from the Missoula Independent. We were as surprised as you to see one random page from another publication in our newspaper.

Apparently, our Great Falls printer also prints the Independent. And, I’m assuming, someone there mistakenly placed the wrong plate on the press and no one noticed. In my 10 years in this business, I have never seen this happen.

We are working with our printer to make this right. The Beacon on newsstands now will be replaced on Thursday with newspapers that include the correct page 14. Until then, you can read the story on the sheriff’s race in its entirety here.

We apologize for the mistake.
