The body of a local man was recovered Sunday morning near a Hungry Horse Reservoir campsite. The 25-year-old was reported missing by his companion Saturday afternoon during a camping trip at Graves Bay.
Flathead Forest Service law enforcement officers, Flathead County deputies and North Valley Search and Rescue combined search efforts but were unable to locate the man.
On Sunday at 8:30 a.m., the Flathead County Dive Team recovered the body from 21 feet of water.
Flathead County Sheriff Mike Meehan said the victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification. The cause of death is under investigation.
Located 35 miles southeast of Hungry Horse, Graves Bay is a popular trout fishing site and campground in the Flathead National Forest.
