Flathead County Sheriff’s and Kalispell Police Reports

Rock Throwers and Bear Fears

By Erin Cole

Monday 6/21

7:30 a.m. An issue on South Cedar Drive was resolved before deputies arrived.

9:11 a.m. Two “wolf-looking” dogs appeared at a home on Foy’s Lake Road. Apparently their looks were worse than their bite as someone placed them in kennels and called the animal warden.

10:19 a.m. A leashed dog was left alone at a Happy Valley residence without food or water. After he growled at a woman who tried to give him water, he was attended to by the animal warden, who left the owners a note.

11:49 a.m. A gun was stolen from a vehicle on Highway 83.

2:00 p.m. Two 11-year-old youths were throwing rocks at cars near a Hungry Horse water tower. The boys were gone when authorities arrived.

1:39 a.m. An intoxicated woman took refuge behind a Columbia Falls bar as she was “afraid of the bears.” Deputies assisted her home.
