Frolicking Fillies and Bat Patrol

11:26 a.m. A jilted lover let the air out of his ex’s tires. He left after she called the police but later returned to finish the job.

1:46 p.m. Several dogs chased a bicyclist down Trumble Creek Road in Kalispell.

3:19 p.m. A Kalispell woman called to report that some loose horses were frolicking on her property and “leaving dents” in her yard. A livestock inspector was dispatched to deal with the problem.

3:43 p.m. Four rolls of copper wire, each containing 25 feet of wire, were stolen from a site in Kalispell.

6:43 p.m. A bat was spotted hanging around a business on Highway 93 South. Fearing that it might be rabid, the business owner requested that someone come and remove it.

7:18 p.m. Somewhere between picking up a bearded hitchhiker and later depositing him in Kalispell, the driver decided the transient was strange and that a law enforcement official ought to check on him.

7:52 p.m. A woman called from Minnesota to report that her son had run away from a treatment center near Marion. The 17 year old was later spotted at Moose Crossing, but was left alone as he had procured a hotel room for the night.

8:43 p.m. A 15-year-old girl was arrested for shoplifting rings at Shopko. She was also charged with obstruction when she gave officers false information about her address and parents’ names.

8:53 p.m. After a woman left her purse and grandchild in a car while she used a restroom, the child followed her in. When they returned to the car, a bottle of pills that had been in the purse were missing.
