WEST GLACIER – Glacier National Park officials say the historic Going-to-the-Sun Road is expected to open across Logan Pass by midday Thursday.
Visitors are being told to be careful around the 10-foot-tall vertical snow banks piled near the road. Also, many trails are still covered in snow.
The park’s free shuttle service is scheduled to begin serving locations along the Sun Road and Apgar Village on July 1 and will continue through Labor Day.
The scenic, alpine road was finished in 1933 and connects West Glacier and St. Mary.
