Montana Skinnier Than Most States

Trust for America’s Health released its latest report on obesity rates in America and the numbers aren’t good. Over the past year, obesity rates increased in 28 states and fell in only the District of Columbia. Montana, however, remains relatively healthy when compared to the rest of the country. According to the survey, this is the nation’s ninth least obese state.

Here are five states with the lowest obese rates among adults:

1) Colorado: 19.1%
2) Connecticut: 21.4%
3) District of Columbia: 21.5%
4) Massachusetts: 21.7%
5) Hawaii: 22.6%
9) Montana: 23.5%

And the states with the highest obese rates among adults:

1) Mississippi: 33.8%
2) Alabama: 31.6%
2) Tennessee: 31.6%
4) West Virginia: 31.3%
5) Louisiana: 31.2%
