By Beacon Staff

MISSOULA – Missoula police and Missoula County sheriff’s officers are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found in a creek and a river over the weekend.

The body of 59-year-old Stephen Forest Diehm was found in Grant Creek behind a truck stop on Reserve Street at about 6 a.m. Sunday. Capt. Greg Hintz says Diehm, who was homeless, had multiple injuries and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

And Missoula County authorities are investigating the death of a 62-year-old man with Arlee ties whose body was found under 6 feet of water in the Clark Fork River west of Missoula Saturday evening.

Officials say Dennis E. Plant, Sr., was fully clothed and the circumstances of his death are also suspicious.
