Cianflone, Vedadi Make it Three in a Row at Beacon Pro-Scratch

By Beacon Staff

For the third year in a row, the team of Kyle Cianflone and Jason Vedadi won the Flathead Beacon Pro-Scratch Golf Tournament, which concluded after a one-hole playoff Tuesday at the Big Mountain Golf Club in Kalispell. The first round was played Monday at Eagle Bend Golf Club in Bigfork.

Cianflone and Vedadi were tied with Josh Gold, a professional from Idaho, and his amateur partner John Cole, owner of Golf USA in Kalispell, after two rounds of play. But the Cianflone-Vedadi team birdied the first playoff hole to win after shooting a blistering 63 on the day. The pair has won the Beacon Pro-Scratch every year since its inception three years ago.

The Flathead Beacon Pro-Scratch features many of the best professional and amateur golfers in Northwest Montana and, this year, attracted 30 teams from as far away as Arizona and California – its largest field ever. The tournament is sponsored by the Beacon and Sun Mountain. The prize money totals more $15,000

Here are the two-day totals for the top finishers, with the pros listed first:

132 Kyle Cianflone and Jason Vedadi
132 Josh Gold and John Cole
134 Ryan Malby and Chuck Eble
135 Larry Barber and Jim Strickland
135 David Owens and Brad Solander
