Montana Falls to Sixth in FCS Polls

The University of Montana football team tumbled from first to sixth in Football Championship Subdivision polls released Monday.

Montana lost 35-33 at then-unranked Cal Poly on Saturday. Cal Poly is now ranked 17th by The Sports Network and 18th by FCS coaches.

Montana State moved up to 22nd in both polls after Washington State had to rally from a 22-7 deficit to edge the Bobcats 23-22.

Defending national champion Villanova moved up to the top spot in the Sports Network poll while the coaches picked Appalachian State No. 1.

James Madison moved up to third in both polls after knocking off No. 13 Virginia Tech 21-16. James Madison received 11 points in the AP Top 25 poll.
