HELENA – The chairman of the board of the Big Sky Tea Party Association says former president Tim Ravndal is still a member of the party.
Chairman Jim Walker told the Independent Record that the board met Monday night to confirm Ravndal’s removal from his leadership post. However, the board determined a lengthier process was required to strip membership and Walker says they may not revisit the issue.
Last week, board member Roger Nummerdor said the board voted Sept. 5 to remove Ravndal from his leadership post and kick him out of the party over Facebook postings that appeared to condone violence against homosexuals.
However, party members protested and some threatened to resign.
Ravndal did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.
