A Hungry Horse man has been sentenced to five years in prison for shooting and injuring a woman.
Prosecutors say Jeremiah Rupert was trying to shoot Adam Chapman over a $100 debt in September 2009, but missed and shot Lisa Wetherfelt in the neck and upper arm.
Rupert pleaded no contest Thursday in Flathead County District Court to two felony counts of assault with a weapon and one charge of misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug.
The Daily Inter Lake reported that Rupert also pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession of a dangerous drug and a misdemeanor charge of negligent endangerment connected to a separate arrest earlier in 2009.
District Court Judge Ted Lympus also ordered Rupert to pay $21,077 in restitution.
