GLACIER NATIONAL PARK – Dive teams and police with rescue dogs are searching in and around Glacier National Park’s Lake McDonald for a Hungry Horse man who has been reported missing.
Glacier National Park spokesman Wade Muehlhof says 30-year-old Michael William Sloan was reported missing by a friend on Tuesday evening. Sloan failed to show up for work after going fishing earlier Tuesday on Upper McDonald Creek at the north end of the Lake McDonald.
Muehlhof says park officials found Sloan’s vehicle Tuesday evening and searched for him into the night.
On Wednesday, the search resumed with assistance from divers, rescue dogs and a helicopter.
Muehlhof says the area has strong downcurrents and extremely cold water temperatures.
