Gateway Community Center Continues to Grow

By Beacon Staff

Three more nonprofits have set up shop in the Gateway Community Center, bringing to nine the number of social service agencies based out of the facility on Kalispell’s west side. Montana Conservation Corps, the Summit Independent Living Center and Youth Dynamic have relocated to the former shopping mall, bolstering the effort to turn it into a central location for local nonprofits.

The Montana Conservation Corps serves youth through trail building and other environmental projects. Summit Living Center provides resources for the disabled and Youth Dynamics serves youth with emotional and behavioral problems.

Two food vendors, J.R.’s Pizza and Margie’s Café and Espresso are also operating in the Gateway Center’s food court. The former mall’s central space is also available for community events, art displays, fairs and other activities.

The United Way, CASA for Kids, Violence Free Crisis Line, Flathead Food Bank, Boys and Girls Clubs and United Way Volunteer Center are all already located at the Gateway Community Center.
