The Class A boys’ and girls’ state soccer tournaments begin this weekend. First-round games are scheduled for Oct. 16, followed by the semifinals on Oct. 23 and the championship games on Oct. 30.
Whitefish and Columbia Falls enter the girls’ tournament with identical 10-2 records and the top two seeds from Northwestern A. Earning the third berth from the conference is Bigfork, making only its second appearance ever at state.
The Bulldogs have won two titles and the Wildcats have one to their name.
For boys, Polson is the No. 1 seed from Northwestern A, followed by Libby and then Whitefish. Polson has never won a state championship, while Whitefish has three and Libby has one.
