Flathead Valley Woman Faces New Charges

By Beacon Staff

A Flathead Valley woman awaiting sentencing for embezzling $67,000 from a Christian radio station in Kalispell has been charged with writing bad checks.

Thirty-four-year-old Jessica McGee was charged last week after prosecutors say she issued bad checks even as her embezzlement case was moving forward in district court.

McGee pleaded guilty in September to embezzling from Kalispell Christian Radio Fellowship, and was scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 10.

The Daily Inter Lake reports that the Flathead County attorney’s office had recommended a 10-year prison sentence with all but 14 days suspended.

But that deal is now in jeopardy with the latest charge.

Prosecutors say McGee wrote 10 bad checks, the last just five days before she pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of theft stemming from the embezzlement case.
