So it’s come down to this for Glacier High School’s football team, heading into the final game of the regular season. Win and the Wolfpack are in the state tournament. Lose and…that’s not quite as clear.
The top eight teams from Class AA make the state tournament, which begins on Nov. 6 and ends with the championship game on Nov. 20. Right now Glacier is ranked seventh. But with a 5-4 record, they are in the middle of a crowded race for the final few spots.
There are three teams with a 6-3 record and three more with a 4-5 record. Glacier will be safe with a win and a 6-4 record to end the year, but with a loss they’ll need some help from the other teams in the race. Hopefully, Glacier just takes care of business and we don’t have to get into the whole point system and tiebreaker stuff.
Glacier plays Missoula Hellgate on the road at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29. Hellgate is 2-7 on the season. Flathead, 1-8, finishes its season at home against Helena High at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29.
