Five teams are ready to battle at the Northwestern A divisional volleyball tournament this weekend for a chance to move on to state. The top two teams qualify for the Class A state tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 11-13 at Montana State University in Bozeman. The divisional tournament will be held at Columbia Falls High School on Nov. 5-6.
Polson is the top seed and gets a first-round bye. The Pirates are 12-1 this season, including a perfect 8-0 conference record. Whitefish has the second seed with an 8-4 (6-2) record. Ronan, 5-10 (4-4), Libby, 5-7 (2-6), and Columbia Falls, 0-12 (0-8), round out the rest of the conference standings.
Libby plays Columbia Falls in a first-round match at 11 a.m. on Friday. Polson awaits the winner. Whitefish squares off against Ronan at 2 p.m. on Friday. Matches begin at noon on Saturday.
