Photography Show to Benefit North Valley Food Bank

By Beacon Staff

It’s that time of year again – there’s a chill in the air, stores start sneaking Christmas paraphernalia into the aisles and we start making plans for Thanksgiving.

However, fall and winter are particularly hard on those in the valley who do not have enough food, especially when heating costs start to go up. To help, acclaimed Whitefish photographer Chuck Haney is presenting his annual show to benefit the North Valley Food Bank on Sunday, Nov. 14 at the O’Shaughnessy Center.

Haney will present a quick-moving, hour-long multimedia show featuring his vast travels and a large selection of images from across Montana. These photos highlight the culture, the people, the animals and the landscapes that make this state unique.

His work has been published in 10 coffee table books and multiple calendars and magazines, which includes 150 cover images.

The event starts at 7 p.m., and admission into the event is a donation of food items for the North Valley Food Bank, which, like other food banks in the Flathead, is feeling the squeeze of the recession and needs some help.

So head up for a good show and a chance to help your neighbors – tis the season.
