WEST GLACIER – Officials at Glacier National Park have temporarily closed the park’s main headquarters building because of the possibility that some of the materials used in a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning system contain asbestos.
A news release Friday says the building will remain closed until tests can determine if asbestos is present.
Employees have been relocated to other offices, and visitors can still get information at the Apgar Visitor Center near Lake McDonald. Until the headquarters building reopens, the visitors center will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be closed Thanksgiving Day.
