SEATTLE – Boeing Co. said Monday it has agreed to acquire Summit Aeronautics Group, a Montana manufacturer of titanium and other hard metal structures for commercial and military aircraft.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.
Summit makes parts for several Boeing planes including 747-8 fail-safe bars which allow the flaps to move on the wings, 787 edge frames that fit around the doors and 767 main-landing-gear beams, which allow the landing gear to rotate.
Boeing said Summit will continue this work and make other parts for the 787. Summit also will continue to support its existing military programs.
The deal is expected to close before the end of the year. Boeing doesn’t think the acquisition will have a material impact on earnings. Summit has 135 employees in Helena.
