WEST GLACIER – Tests for hazardous materials at Glacier National Park’s headquarters building have come back negative for asbestos.
But park officials said Friday that headquarters’ employees would continue to work out of temporary offices elsewhere while the building’s heating and air conditioning system is replaced.
Employees had been relocated last week, after it was discovered testing for hazardous materials had not been performed prior to the start of the construction.
Visitors can still get information at the Apgar Visitor Center near Lake McDonald. Until the headquarters building reopens, the visitors center will be open seven days a week. from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
