BIGFORK – Bigfork Schools held a pertussis vaccination clinic after two students and a teacher have been diagnosed with whooping cough.
The three cases in Bigfork schools are among seven confirmed in the Flathead Valley.
Superintendent Cynthia Clary tells KECI-TV that the school invited health department workers in to offer vaccines Tuesday because they wanted the shots to be accessible to staff, students and the rest of the community.
The Flathead County Health Department says most of the seven cases are unrelated and one of the patients had been vaccinated. The health department is recommending a booster shot for people over the age of 10.
